U.S. Bean Output May Drop 6.5%VANCOUVER - Mar 30/07 - SNS -- The U.S. has the potential to produce 1.028 million metric tons (MT) of dry edible beans this year, based on the intention of growers in that country to seed 1.504 million acres of all classes of beans. If state-level yields are at their recent five-year averages, total edible bean output would drop 6.5% from last year while seeded area is down 7.7%. While the USDA provided state level seeding intentions estimates for large and small caliber chickpeas, it did not break out seeding intentions for other classes of beans.
