Bean Production Expanding in Thailand
WASHINGTON - Mar 25/07 - SNS -- Pulse production levels in Thailand are expected to continue increasing on account of attractive farm gate prices and ongoing encouragement to seed pulses as a second crop to help fertilize rice fields.
The U.S. agricultural attache for the country says this year's acreage expansion is expected in the north and central region.
Expansion in the northeast will be limited by unattractive returns compared to other crops like tapioca and sugarcane.
