Chickpeas Mostly UnchangedVANCOUVER - Mar 23/07 - SNS -- Chickpea markets were little changed in light trade during the past week. Participation in spot markets by growers in Canada and the United States is limited by tight supplies as growers hold on to remaining inventories with hopes of planting or selling it as seed. However, once seeding is done, that untreated seed will be released back onto commercial markets. Canadian chickpea area will increase significantly this year, but the split between desi and kabuli-type chickpeas remains uncertain.
