Frozen Vegetable Supplies Decline
WASHINGTON - Mar 22/07 - SNS -- Frozen vegetable supplies fell 10% during February to finish the month at almost 1,762 million pounds, down 6% from the previous year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
Compared to the previous month, stocks of mixed vegetables, other onions and mixed peas and carrots were up. Compared to last year, stocks of asparagus, broccoli, carrots, mixed peas and carrots and spinach were down.
Supplies of potatoes in cold storage were higher, rising 26 million pounds on the month to 1,068 million pounds, down 7% from the previous year.
