Little Change in Birdseed IngredientsVANCOUVER - Mar 16/07 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were generally unchanged to slightly weaker in sympathy with the major grains and oilseeds. Few changes were noted in Canadian canaryseed, though new crop grower bids were slightly firmer on the week as processors work to retain sufficient interest in growing the crop to meet 2007-08 sales forecasts. Sunflower markets, by contrast, were generally unchanged for confectionary in North America, while oil-type sunflower seed lost some value in sympathy with vegetable oil markets. This was especially true of new crop markets, with bids for oil-type sunflower slipping U.S. 10 to 25 cents per 100 pounds (cwt) across the United States.
