Australian Livestock Auction Action DropsSYDNEY - Mar 16/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week in a general decline in livestock offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 24,468 sheep and lambs, versus 30,420 head the previous auction, and 3,377 head of cattle, compared to 3,508 last week. "The cattle market was certainly strong today but cattle just lacking a bit of quality certainly were not as buoyant as last week," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Physical markets have reported the same trend all week. Reductions in over the hooks prices this week are probably linked to the high dollar and a strongly held view that Queensland is about ready to start trucking larger numbers of prime stock from areas less affected by drought."
