U.S. Prothioconazole Residue TolerancesWASHINGTON - Mar 14/07 - SNS -- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the United States has set tolerances for combined residues of prothioconazole, prothioconazole-desthio and conjugates in a wide range of field crops. Crops covered by the new tolerances include cereal and coarse grains, mustard seed, rapeseed, field peas, and dry edible beans. Residue tolerances were also established for meat and meat products from animals which might consume livestock feed ingredients treated by the chemicals. Tolerances were requested by Bayer CropScience, which uses these chemicals as the active ingredient in products such as Proline, recently registered in Canada for sclerotinia control in canola, and Prosaro, used to combat fusarium head blight, leaf rust, stem rust, septoria leaf spot, septoria glume blotch, tan spot, powdery mildew in wheat and other crops.
