Canadian Growers Keen on New Crop PeasVANCOUVER - Mar 9/07 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week little changed, but with a firm undertone in both current and new crop markets. This is especially obvious in grower markets, where recent weakness in the Canadian dollar has allowed processors to raise grower bids to more interesting levels. Some growers say new crop bids have reached levels where field peas may generate up to a CDN $50 per acre better return than canola, leaving some to wonder if there will not be an increase in area this spring.
