New Crops Birdseeds at PremiumVANCOUVER - Mar 9/07 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone through the past week, with new crop markets for most product categories holding premiums to spot. Markets remain doubtful about the area which will end being sown to canaryseed, sunflower, millet and other birdseed ingredients because of the general swing into major grains and oilseeds. Interestingly, while new crop inter-dealer markets for Canadian canaryseed remain at a premium to spot, new crop grower bids are discounted an average of CDN 17 cents per pound for farmers dressed product delivered western Canadian processing plants.
