Small Drop in Sugar ResidualsWASHINGTON - Mar 9/07 - SNS -- Residual supplies of sugar are expected to be somewhat lower than initially thought, according to the latest USDA supply and demand updates from the World Agricultural Outlook Board. Though projected 2006-07 sugar supply and use in the United States was nearly unchanged from last month, ending stocks were reduced 7,000 short tons to 1.686 million. Beet sugar production is decreased 9,000 tons, raw value, based on processor estimates compiled by the Farm Service Agency. With no other changes, ending stocks are decreased by that amount.
