Beans Maintain Firm TrendVANCOUVER - Feb 23/07 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets finished the week on a generally firmer note against expectations of a smaller seeded area across North and South America this year. North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 906, up seven points on the week; while the grower index finished three points higher at 829. Interestingly, spreads between spot and new crop markets are unusually narrow given relatively high spot market values for some classes of beans.
