USDA Buys 530 MT Special Crops
KANSAS CITY - Feb 23/07 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 530 metric tons (MT) of buckwheat groats and light red kidney beans for shipment a food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 027A the product was bought for shipment from inland plants between March 20 and April 10 or from plants located at port between April 11 and May 2.
In announcing details of the invitation results, the USDA noted, "A total of 720 MT of Light Red Kidney Beans were rejected due to price."
