Mixed Week in BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Feb 16/07 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets registered another mixed performance during the past week, with Canadian markets unchanged and U.S. ingredient markets firmer. The change was most obvious in white proso millet markets, where grower bids finished the week at a solid U.S. $9 per one 100 pounds (cwt) for farmers dressed product delivered elevators in the U.S. midwest. Stocks of confectionary sunflower remain unusually tight on spot markets, while new crop were firmed on the week, with discounts for smalls shrinking from U.S. $7 to $5 cwt as new crop bids rose to $17 cwt. Oil-type sunflower markets were steady for current crop, with new crop holding a 45 cent premium in North Dakota and a 90 cent premium in Kansas.
