Food Pea Markets Unchanged to FirmerVANCOUVER - Feb 9/07 - SNS -- International field pea markets were unchanged to firmer during the past week against good ongoing demand from the Indian subcontinent. Pulse production levels in India are expected to be up over 2005-06, potentially rising 8.4% to 14.52 million metric tons (MT) across both the kharif and rabi season. Even so, demand from the Indian subcontinent remains an important feature in world markets, with Canadian exporters confident they will approach recent export norms of around 295,000 MT for the opening quarter of the calendar year.
