Upward Trend in Ukraine Rapeseed OutputWASHINGTON - Feb 7/07 - SNS -- Rapeseed production in the Ukraine is expected to rise sharply this season in response to strong European markets for the oil, which is also being used to produce bio-diesel. The U.S. agricultural attache for the country said there has been a clear upward trend in production in recent years. This will be helped by the Ukraine government's recent passage of a decree aimed at supporting rapeseed production in the country. On December 22, 2006, the Ukraine government adopted a program for biofuel production. The major objective of the new energy policy is energy independence.
