Mixed Finish in BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Feb 2/07 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets recorded a mixed performance during the week, with Canadian markets easing and U.S. markets rising. Canadian canaryseed markets were generally weaker on both the grower and inter-dealer markets. However, limited grower selling is forcing those processors who need product to reach, effectively paying a premium to spot markets to secure seed. Sunflower was stronger on the week, with oil-type markets advancing in sympathy with soybean; and confectionary sunflowers making the transition to new crop pricing basis because of limited stocks of current crop product.
