Dairy Products Mainly Firmer
WASHINGTON - Feb 2/07 - SNS -- Dairy product prices were mostly higher during the past week, judging from the latest USDA report on the sector.
Cheddar Cheese prices received for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $1.31 per pound. The price per pound fell 2.2 cents from last week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.33 per pound, unchanged from the previous week.
Butter prices paid for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.21 per pound. The U.S. price per pound advanced 1.7 cents versus last week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices paid for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged $1.09 per pound. The U.S. price per pound decreased 0.3 cents versus the previous week.
