Peanut Stocks on Hand Amount to 3.94 Billion Pounds
WASHINGTON - Jan 30/07 - SNS -- Peanut stocks commercial storage on December 31, 2006 totalled 3.94 billion pounds of equivalent farmer stock, compared to 4.42 billion pounds a year ago, shows today's USDA update.
This total includes 3.11 billion pounds of actual farmer stock.
Shelled peanuts on hand totalled 789 million pounds of farmer stock equivalent. Roasting stock totalled 42.1 million pounds.
Shelled peanut stocks totalled 593 million pounds of which 562 million pounds were edible grades and 31.2 million pounds were oil stock. Edible grade stocks by type included 119 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 409 million pounds of Runners, and 34.3 million pounds of Spanish.
December millings totalled 241 million pounds. Millings by type were 54.9 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 181 million pounds of Runners, and 4.55 million pounds of Spanish.
