Frozen Poultry Inventory Rises
WASHINGTON - Jan 22/07 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of December were up 8% from the previous month, and 13% below last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
At 760 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were up 68 million pounds from the previous month, and down 18% from last year. Frozen egg stocks were down 1% on the month at 16.8 million pounds.
At 221 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were up 3% from last month and up 15 million pounds from last year.
