December Egg Output Drops SlightlyWASHINGTON - Jan 22/07 - SNS -- U.S, shows this USDA statistics. egg came in at 7.78 billion throughout December 2006, down somewhat from a year ago. Production included 6.68 billion table eggs, and 1.09 billion hatching eggs, of which 1.03 billion were broiler-type and 66 million were egg-type. The total number of layers during December 2006 averaged 348 million, down slightly from last year. December egg production per 100 layers was 2,234 eggs, down slightly from December 2005.
