Few Changes in Food Pea MarketsVANCOUVER - Jan 19/07 - SNS -- North American field pea markets ended the week's trading mostly unchanged in relatively light export trading interest. Tightening supplies, compounded by a seasonal slow down in grower selling activity, is having a positive influence on prices. However, it remains to be seen if markets are responding enough to the underlying changes in agricultural fundamentals to maintain seeded area at levels needed to meet market needs in 2007-08. In the United States, for instance, markets expect a net increase in land in wheat, corn and soybeans this year.
