Australian Livestock Auction Action UpSYDNEY - Jan 19/07 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd jumped during the past week on across the board gains in sales activity. Throughput for the week totalled 22,665 sheep and lambs, versus 15,109 head the previous auction, and 2,917 head of cattle, compared to 2,516 last week. "Numbers in the physical pens were extended to a greater extent to expedite delivery in front of rapidly shrinking water supplies," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "The results of the increased volumes were interesting as they coincided with the resumption of '07 export kills. Grown sheep and slaughter lambs were markedly cheaper but improved as the week went along and cattle were stronger throughout." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
