Mixed Start to Year for Beans
VANCOUVER - Jan 5/07 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets started the new year on a mixed note, with North American markets holding steady and Latin American easing as sanity returned to white alubia bean markets.
North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 872, up two points on the week; while the grower index finished unchanged at 762.
Processors in the United States report especially strong markets for California origin dry edible beans and great northern beans for export.
