USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Jan 5/07 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Jan 5.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW

For the week grain and soybean bids saw moderate sharp losses. The board was
closed the first two days of the New Year in observance of the holiday but
opened Wednesday sharply lower and continued to see losses on Thursday. Wheat
was pressured by favorable weather in the HRW wheat region and the lower corn.
The area received snow which will insulate the crop from severe cold weather and
much needed precipitation. Corn bids declined due to fund selling and favorable
weather in South America. Soybeans saw moderate losses in reaction to the lower
grains and good South American weather for crop development. Wheat was mostly
26-38 cents lower. Yellow corn was 22-29 cents lower. Sorghum was 46-56 cents
lower. Soybeans were mostly 12-15 cents lower.
