AWB Pools Forecasts UnchangedSYDNEY - Jan 3/07 - SNS -- The Australian wheat marketing board, AWB Limited, left its 2005-06 and 2006-07 National Pool Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs) unchanged despite strength in the Australian dollar the past three weeks. The benchmark APW grade EPR remains at $242 per metric ton (MT) with all other estimates including durum and feed grade still unchanged. "The wheat market did rally in the period immediately before Christmas but the key Kansas market settled back again to similar levels to the last update," said Acting General Manager National Pool David Johnson. "Strong downward price pressure is placed on all commodity exporters with the rising value of the Australian dollar approaching 80 US cents, however the AWB foreign exchange hedging program has protected pool participants and allows the EPRs to remain unchanged."
