Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 1/07 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Nil.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high over the southwestern Tasman Sea will remain slow-moving for the next few
days, with a moist northeast flow into a trough over western New South Wales.
The trough is expected to weaken Tuesday into Wednesday as another trough over
Western Australia develops. Showers and thunderstorms over much of the state

rise. The slow movement of some of the thunderstorms today should again lead to
some locally moderate to heavy falls.
Forecast for Tuesday
Thunderstorms on and west of the ranges. A few showers across most of the state.
Cool in the east tending warm in the west. Moderate to fresh east to northeast
winds.
Fire danger: Locally very high for the Central West Slopes and Plains, Upper
Western and Lower Western.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated showers, more scattered on the north coast. Isolated thunderstorms in
the west. Mild to warm, tending hot in far northwest. Northeast winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges north from the Illawarra.
Generally fine elsewhere. Warm to hot. North to northeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges north from about Newcastle.
Generally fine elsewhere. Warm to hot. North to northeast winds.
