Fresh and Frozen Fruit Stocks Slip
WASHINGTON - Dec 21/06 - SNS -- Frozen fruit supplies slipped 3% during November to finish the month at over 946 million pounds, down 27% from the previous year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
Inventories of frozen juice dropped 27% from the previous year and slipped 3% from the previous month to 946.4 million pounds.
Fresh apples stocks finished the month at 5,499 million pounds, up 1% from last year, and down 8% from the previous month. Pears were down 23% from year earlier levels, and down 16% on the month at 340.6 million pounds.
