USDA Tenders for 3,710 MT Pulses
KANSAS CITY - Dec 20/06 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here is seeking offers of 3,710 metric tons (MT) of peas and beans for shipment as food aid.
Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 017, the USDA plans to buy 3,620 MT of yellow split peas and 90 MT of great northern beans for shipment from origin in February.
The quantity of peas requested under the tender will be welcomed by field pea processors in the United States, but lentil and dry edible bean processors and growers may be disappointed by the invitation.
