World Beans Firm, NA MixedVANCOUVER- Dec 15/06 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week on a firm note, despite some seasonal softness in North America. North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 867, down one point on the week; while the grower index finished unchanged at 761. Markets were unaffected the by the latest USDA crop production estimates, with the latest numbers have little impact on the fundamental outlook for most classes of beans. At the same time, markets are making the transition into the Christmas and New Year's period, with only fill-in trading taking pace on domestic markets and growers generally disinterested in selling.
