Seasonal Lull Starts in LentilsVANCOUVER - Dec 8/06 - SNS -- Lentil markets are starting to slip into the Christmas and New Year's doldrums, with prices easing in the face of limited end user buying interest. This was reflected in softer grower and inter-dealer markets in Canada, while markets in the United States were unchanged to firmer against tight, near term processing capacity. Markets in the United States are also influenced by the reality of greater competition for land use from major grains and oilseeds in 2007; while Canadian markets appear to be just understanding the relationship between spot markets and seeding intentions.
