USDA National Grain Review

ST. JOSEPH - Sep 27/02 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Sep 27.

WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW

This week bids have been mixed with wheat closing mostly higher. Weekly
exports came in above expectations which allowed wheat to settle down. The
largest customers included Mexico at 236,000 tons, Japan with 155,600 tons and
the Philippines at 101,100 tons. Corn harvest in Northwest Missouri is almost
completed which is a month early due to dry weather conditions. Soybean exports
were also above expectations and lending light support. Cooler temperatures
have kept the drying process slow which is noted to help trade. Wheat mostly 3
to 22 cents higher with the exception of Portland 1 to 3 cents lower. Corn was
2 to 10 cents lower with Kansas City 21 cents lower. Sorghum bids were 2 to
12 cents lower. Soybeans steady to 4 cents lower with Illinois 18 cents lower.
