Australian Livestock Auction Action RisesSYDNEY - Dec 1/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rose during the past week on improved sheep and lamb sales activity. Throughput for the week totalled 27,144 sheep and lambs, versus 23,234 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 2,865, compared to 3,856 last week. "The drought's vice like grip restricted markets to their worst results in recent years this week, only adding to the steepness the graph line will scribe at drought's end," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "The really poor performance of the current cow market could yet worsen as we move closer to year-end export works closures.
