MGE Afternoon Corn and Soybean Trading Starts

MINNEAPOLIS - Sep 26/02 - SNS -- The Minneapolis Grain Exchange will start trading afternoon trading for National Corn Index (NCI) and National Soybean Index (NSI) futures and options as of September 30, 2002 on MGEXpress, the Minneapolis Grain Exchange's electronic trading platform.

NCI and NSI futures and options trading hours are currently from 8:30 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. (all times are Central). Beginning September 30, the closing time for the contracts will be 1:30 p.m. and the new afternoon trading session will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. each MGEX business day, although trade activity conducted during the afternoon session will clear as part of the next business day's activity.

Orders existing at the conclusion of the morning session will remain eligible for the afternoon session except each month on the contract's last trading day. Trading limits and strike prices established for the morning trading session will apply to the afternoon trading session. Daily settlement prices for the contracts will continue to be calculated following the conclusion of the morning trading session.
