CGC Details October Pea ExportsWINNIPEG - Nov 29/06 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 162,700 metric tons (MT) of field peas were exported through licensed terminal facilities, which are required to report to it all grain movement, in October. This is less than half the 380,500 MT shipped the same month last year and down from the 346,000 MT shipped in September. The CGC reports field pea exports so far during the 2006-07 marketing total 574,400 MT, down from 768,700 MT the first three months of the previous season. Of total peas shipped in September, 96,000 MT moved through terminal elevators in Vancouver; 46,700 MT through facilities in Thunder Bay; and 20,000 MT via Churchill.
