Australian Livestock Auction Action FallsSYDNEY - Nov 24/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd dropped during the past week on weaker sheep and lamb sales activity. Throughput for the week totalled 23,234 sheep and lambs, versus 30,020 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 3,856, compared to 1,378 last week. "The sheep and lamb market continued to ebb and wane this week. On Tuesday you could be forgiven for thinking the market had overcome its supply lump in the throat and was moving right along -- not so -- Thursday it was tougher again," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Today's cattle sale simply reflected seasonal conditions, the Northern market was very strong but the further South you got the weaker it became as can be seen in the detail of this report."
