European Feed Peas FirmVANCOUVER - Nov 17/06 - SNS -- European feed pea markets ended the week on a somewhat firmer note, even though grower bid levels in France were off on the week. This is good news for North American exporters, who were able to increase asking prices on a delivered North European ports basis. However, with the exception of Spain, feed pea demand remains modest. This is primarily a reflection of the decrease in local production, which has hurt reliability of supply, and the fact Canadian growers and processors largely view feed peas as a residual market. Price relationships between products in the international feed ingredient complex are undergoing significant, long term changes because of rising energy sector demand for agricultural crops.
