Chickpeas Maintain Firm ToneVANCOUVER - Nov 3/06 - SNS -- International chickpea markets ended the week on a relatively firm note, helped by reports from Canadian exporters of chickpea sales to Australia. Australia's chickpea harvest was recently projected at 222,600 metric tons (MT) of desi and 16,250 MT of kabuli by the country's pulse industry association. Both numbers are up significantly from last year. But, most market participants believe the harvest will be smaller, though few are willing to put hard numbers on their ideas.
