Technicals Help Field PeasVANCOUVER - Nov 3/06 - SNS -- Field pea markets were also firm on the week, helped by worsening ideas about crop production levels in Australia and proportionately good demand for Canadian fields peas. Canada's technical situation is not helped by slowing grower sales and tightening visible supplies of peas. The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports that as of October 28, there were 270,200 MT of peas in all positions, including: 92,900 MT of field peas in primary elevators; 110,000 MT at Vancouver; none at Churchill; 5,300 MT at Thunder Bay; 5,800 MT in the lower St. Lawrence; and 27,300 MT in transit by rail to west coast ports; 400 MT in transit by rail to eastern ports; and 28,500 MT in transit on the Great Lakes.
