Edible Beans Maintain ToneVANCOUVER - Nov 3/06 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week on a generally firmer note in relatively light trading interest. The spot market index for beans in the United States managed to record a four point gain on the week to finish at 829. So far during the 2006-07 marketing year, the index has averaged 793.46 points, up from 717.35 across the 2005-06 marketing campaign, but below the 2004-05 season average of 935.53 points. The grower index finished the week unchanged at 712 points. It has so far averaged 689.94 points, up from 635.83 last season, but below the 2004-05 season average of 866.34 points.
