Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 21/02 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings

Weather Pattern
A low pressure system will form in southern NSW today and weaken on Monday. A
high pressure system will approach from the west before crossing the State on
Monday. A cold front will cross the Bight to reach Victoria on Tuesday with
another front entering the west on Wednesday.    
Victoria
Sunday:    Fine apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers and
thunderstorms in the northeast, mainly over the ranges. A cool to mild day with
southwest to southerly wind, locally fresh along the coast. 
UV Index: 6 [High] reduced to 2 [moderate] under cloud. 
Monday:    Fine apart from isolated clearing showers in the east. Mild to warm.
Tuesday:   Mild to warm before a cooler southwesterly change with showers
extends from the west.
Wednesday: Showers, mainly in the southwest and about the ranges. MIld to warm. 
Forecast for Melbourne
Sunday
Fine with afternoon sunny periods. Light wind tending moderate southerly.

Fine and mostly sunny.                      Min 7    Max 19
Tuesday
Windy. Change with showers developing.      Min 11    Max 18
Wednesday
Late showers.                               Min 10    Max 19
Trend for Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Showers at times. Cooler. 
Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Sunday:    West to southwest wind 5 to 10 knots tending southwest to southerly
at 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon. Waves around half a metre.
Monday:    Southwest to southerly wind of 5 to 10 knots and afternoon seabreezes
of a similar strength. Waves around half a metre.
Tuesday:   Northeast to northerly wind freshening to 15 to 20 knots before
shifting west to southwesterly at 15 to 20 knots later in the day.
Wednesday: North to northwesterly wind freshening to 15 to 20 knots. 
Headline Melbourne: Fine.
