Australian Livestock Auction Action DropsSYDNEY - Nov 3/06 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week on a continued, massive drop in sheep and lamb sales. Throughput for the week totalled 9,020 sheep and lambs, versus 15,301 head the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,378, compared to 1,265 last week. "Shorter numbers alone have put upward pressure on the markets but today after some good falls of rain, the increases in cattle values were significant," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "The best guess, considering quality and location as the main criteria's, steers appeared to be 5c and in places 10c/kg dearer this week, and more significant were rises in female prices."
