Lentils Firm Under Good DemandVANCOUVER - Oct 27/06 - SNS -- North American lentil markets remain firm in the face of good demand and tightening stocks of whole green lentils. Markets were unaffected by predictions by Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food that its crop is slightly bigger than that forecast by Statistics Canada at the start of the month. In its final crop report of the year, the provincial agriculture department pegged output at 680,000 metric tons (MT) in the province. Statistics Canada had estimated output at 672,500 MT.
