Hop Stocks Up 20%WASHINGTON - Sep 19/02 - SNS -- Inventories of hops held by growers, dealers and brewers was up 20% as of September 1, totalling 65.0 million pounds, according to the latest USDA data. Stocks held by brewers, at 35.0 million pounds, were 8% less than September 1, 2001, and 7% below September 1, 2000. Stocks held by growers and dealers on September 1, 2002, were 30.0 million pounds, nearly double the stocks on hand last year, and nearly triple the hop stocks held two years ago.
