Pea and Lentil Tenders Reach 21,950 MT
KANSAS CITY - Oct 18/06 - STAT -- The quantity of peas and lentils covered by USDA PL-480 food aid tenders this season now totals 57,490 MT, compared to 82,170 MT last year.
Purchases of green peas are up 440 MT at 6,350 MT versus 5,910 MT last season. Food aid demand for U.S. regular lentils is down 20,540 MT from last year's 38,790 MT.
