USDA Increase Dairy Inspection FeesWASHINGTON - Oct 16/06 - SNS -- Hourly fees charged by the USDA for its voluntary dairy grading and inspection services will increase effective October 18 to cover higher salary, energy, and program operation costs. The hourly rate for continuous resident service (work performed by a grader with a regular tour of duty at a dairy production facility) is raised from the current rate of $57.00 to $63.00. The hourly rate for nonresident service (work performed by a grader or inspector on an as-needed basis) is raised from the current rate of $62.00 to $68.00. Dairy grading and inspection services are available upon request and paid for by the users of these services. Previous fees have been in effect since April 4, 2004. The new rates go into effect immediately.
