Strong Finish for BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Oct 13/06 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets finished the week on a strong note, with values for Canadian canaryseed and white proso millet posting a strong finish. Canaryseed bids were up sharply on the week at the grower level in western Canada, jumping CDN $1 per 100 pounds (cwt) to $13.50 for farmers dressed product delivered processing plants. White proso millet values in the United States solidified around U.S. $7.75 cwt at the grower level and nominal $8.50 cwt for bulk millet on inter-dealer markets.
