Eggs Use Rises in August
WASHINGTON - Oct 10/06 - SNS -- The quantity of eggs used by food manufacturers in August rose 1% above least year, according to the USDA.
Shell eggs broken totaled 182 million dozen during August 2006, up 1% from August a year ago, and 6% above the 171 million broken last month.
During calendar year 2006 through August, shell eggs broken totaled 1.36 billion dozen, down slightly from the comparable period in 2005. Total edible liquid from eggs broken in 2006 was 1.77 billion pounds, down slightly from 2005.
