Thai Rice Under PressureBANGKOK - Oct 7/06 - SNS -- Rice markets in Thailand experienced considerable pressure during the first week of October, notes the U.S. agricultural attache in a report on the country's rice sector. "White rice domestic prices were offered lower than the previous week and will likely continue the downward trend," the agricultural attache said. "The coming harvest of new crop is reportedly expected to force the Government to release record 2004-05 and 2005-06 white rice intervention stocks of over 3 million MT within the next few months in order to have space in warehouses.
