Near Record Price Territory for Chickpeas
VANCOUVER - Oct 6/06 - SNS -- Canadian desi and small caliber chickpea markets have been trading in near record price territory so far this month on export markets.
This is being reflected to growers in western Canada, with bids since the beginning of September just beating records set during the August to October period of 2002.
Interestingly, grower bids in the 2002-03 marketing year started sliding in December and plunged 30% below the fall highs after March.
