Modest Decline in Field Pea ExportsVANCOUVER - Oct 2/06 - SNS -- Canadian bulk conventional field pea export clearances are have fallen slightly behind last season during the first two months of the current marketing year. While shipments to human consumption markets were up over last year, feed pea clearances are down, making it difficult for Canadian field pea shipment volumes to make any gains over 2005-06. Clearances during the first two months of the marketing year totalled 297,319 metric tons (MT), according to data available from the Canadian Ports Clearance Association, just below the 299,399 MT shipped in August and September of the 2005-06 marketing campaign.
